Eduardo Vallejo
Eduardo Vallejo wurde in Bogotá, Kolumbien geboren. Dort begann er seine Ausbildung an der Academia Musical Piccolo. Anschliessend studierte er an der Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in der Klasse von Radostina Petkova. 2002 setzte er sein Klavierstudium an der Musikakademie Basel fort. Dort wurde seine Interesse an der Neuen Musik geweckt. 2006 schloss er mit dem Diplom für freie Improvisation bei Walter Fähndrich ab. Von 2006 bis 2007 studierte er Fortepiano an der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis bei Edoardo Torbianelli.
Seine musikalische Tätigkeit umfasst ein sehr breites Spektrum unterschiedlicher Stilrichtungen: Klassik, Neue Musik, Freie Improvisation, lateinamerikanische und spanische Folklore, Gospel, Pop. Gegenwärtig ist er Klavierlehrer an der Musikschule Liestal, wo er auch den Jugendchor leitet. Daneben leitet er den Chor K35 in Basel sowie die Basel Chamber Voices in Riehen.
Eduardo Vallejo was born in Bogotá, Colombia. His first musical studies were at the Academia Musical Piccolo in Bogotá and subsequently at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Pontifical Xavierian University) under the tutelage of Radostina Petkova. In 2002 he joined the Musik Akademie Basel (Basel Academy for Music) to continue his piano studies. There his interest in new music was awakened, and in 2006 he completed his degree in Free Improvisation under Walter Fähndrich. From 2006-2007, he studied piano with Edoardo Torbianelli at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
His musical endeavours span a broad range of styles encompassing classical, new music, free improvisation, Latin American and Spanish folklore, gospel and pop. He teaches piano at the Music School of Liestal, where he also directs the school’s youth choir. He directs the choir K35 in Basel and the Basel Chamber Voices in Riehen.
